In order to successfully develop Vertical Solutions a strong Consulting process is required to capture requirements across a range of stakeholders and define a solution that will meet everyone’s requirements whilst providing the flexibility for further configuration to meet individual requirements. Our Consulting teams have successfully designed, developed and delivered a number of Vertical applications for clients using leading technology products. The emphasis is on the rapid, controlled delivery of systems, using Rapid Application Development (RAD) techniques such as iterative prototyping, Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions and Time-Boxed phases.
An example of our Vertical Market capability is the “Paediatric Acuity and Nursing Dependency Assessment (PANDA) solution built for the Healthcare sector to:
- identify patients receiving high dependency or critical care in the ward setting, allowing appropriate financial charging of this higher level of care.
- allow accurate collection on paediatric wards of the UK national PCCMDS
- identify patient care needs, allowing targeted training of nursing staff based on accurate data
PANDA Ensures nursing staff competency and best practice
PANDA is a Paediatric Acuity and Nursing Dependency Assessment tool (PANDA) that was originally developed by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) to measure the nursing dependency of children on Paediatrics wards, and to calculate the nursing staffing requirements for each ward. A new electronic version has been developed by Genisys Software in conjunction with GOSH.
As well as providing the unique benefits within the sphere of Paediatrics of measuring nursing dependency and calculating staffing levels, the system also allows projection of nursing staff competency requirements and the objective assessment of the financial implications of the care levels being provided operationally.
PANDA software features include:
Flexible, quick and accurate acuity and dependency reporting, including DoH reports, releasing nursing time for patient care
Calculate levels of patient care
Ability to calculate levels of patient care provided by degree of dependency, based upon objective data
Supports service development and aids workforce planning
Audit trail of patient assessments
Web based user interface
Web browser based user interface for fast and flexible deployment
Real time data entry
Data entered on wards in real time using tablet or desktop PCs (depending upon the computer hardware that the Trust wishes to use)
Interface with PMS
Optional interface with the patient information system to capture new and updated patient demographics
Easy to configure at ward level
Easily configurable at ward level for different shift patterns and numbers of open beds for a particular day of the week
“We can already see the benefits of the PANDA software at GOSH. It has enabled us to project nursing staff competency requirements as well as monitoring staffing
